English language students

Our English language courses will prepare you for study at Foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degree level. All of our courses are designed to provide you with the specific language and study skills you will need to succeed in academic study.

What are the advantages of studying English language with us?

  • You will develop the study skills required to succeed in tertiary study while increasing your English language proficiency.
  • Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced and they use up-to date teaching methods in modern classrooms.

  • Our English language programme will enable you to gain entry to the University without sitting external exams such as IELTS.

  • Your will be taught right on campus. You will be a university student from the day you arrive. You will be fully a part of the University student community, with a Canterbury Card like every other student. The Card is your key to activities and services on the campus, as well as giving you discounts in a number of local businesses.

  • You will have access to all of the University’s facilities including computer labs, language labs, libraries and sports facilities. You are a full member of the Students’ Association with its more than 100 clubs and societies. It is a lively and stimulating environment to be a part of.  

  • You will have access to a wide range of student services including student advisors, the University’s Medical Centre, the Learning Skills Centre, Careers Counselling and a social events programme.
